Akua Naru has unveiled the first cut from her forthcoming album, The Blackest Joy. The single is a bright, mystical yet dark tale of womanhood filled with rich spiritual West-African influences. The video starts off with footage of beautiful landscapes in Lome, Togo and is slowly accompanied with vocals sung in Mina (one of Togo's dialects) before the MC attacks an array of jazzy, soulful hip hop instrumentals that set the tone for My Mother's Daughter.
